Summary: The Brigham Renal Board Review Course was developed to enhance renal medicine knowledge by discussing a comprehensive update; a case-based review of difficult clinical problems; and a summary of literature to guide evidence based practice. This course also intends to prepare attendees for the ABIM Board Examinations (Certification/Recertification) and offers daily board review question & answer practice sessions in all specialty areas of nephrology. The program will also includes daily case-based lectures & meet the professor luncheons covering the vital topics in renal medicine. Throughout the course, importance will be placed on the practical application of physiological principles to the understanding and management of clinical problems specifically for board exam preparation. In addition, self-study material, available on DVD, CD, MP3 and MP4, containing all general session lectures recorded from this live activity (with the exception of lunch sessions) will be included and presented as an additional ‘desk-top’ teaching tool to help learners prepare for the board exams. This enduring information will be presended to attendees on site, as well as being available for purchase by non-attendees who wish to view or listen to the courses, take the post-test, and receive credit. For non-attendees it will provide a chance for them to view or listen to live lectures in preparation for the renal board review, and for onsite attendees, it is a opportunity to reinforce their education. The post-test and evaluation form will measure informqtion gained, competence, intent to change, etc.
